7 Healthy Foods That Are Abundant In Bali

For anyone who wishes to go on holiday to Bali, and specifically, thinking about Bali villas as one of your options for accommodation, the time you spend in Bali can provide you with many health benefits.

These range from physical exercise if you take part in sporting activities, the chance to relax, and of course, any holiday should benefit everyone’s mental health given that you have time away from the stresses of work or running a business.

There is a further opportunity to boost your health when in Bali, by experiencing the many wonderful and healthy culinary delights that Bali has to offer.

Bali is often described as a paradise, and it is hard to argue with that description.

More specifically it is a lush and abundant land that offers a veritable treasure chest of foods that are nutritious and healthy for all who eat them.

If you have never been to Bali before we first suggest that you do some research on Bali food, and focus on the many wondrous dishes that Bali is best known for.

To give you a bit of a start, we have highlighted below seven that we strongly urge you to seek out during your holiday in Bali.

Better still, if you are staying in a Bali villa why not try to recreate them yourself using local ingredients?

Avocados: An abundant source of minerals, vitamins, and Omega-3 fatty acids, avocados are an extremely healthy food, and in Bali the number of ways it can be consumed is plentiful.

As well as in salads and main meals,  you can even find avocados in burger buns in Bali.

Teas And Smoothies: Those that love drinking teas and smoothies will be spoilt for choice in Bali given the number of healthy ingredients that are used to make them there.

Almost every restaurant and cafe will have a selection of teas and smoothies to choose from.

Sayur Urap: Sayur Urap is a healthy and nutritious dish that consists primarily of steamed or boiled vegetables and comes with a spicy coconut dressing. Whilst it can be readily found on the menus of local restaurants, it is also a simple dish to prepare, so we recommend getting the ingredients and trying to prepare it in your Bali villa’s kitchen.

Raw Chocolate: You might be shocked to see chocolate in a list of healthy foods, but the key word here is ‘raw’.

Chocolate is rich in antioxidants, iron, and magnesium and how chocolate products are produced for cafes such as cacao drinks and chocolate treats makes them far more healthy than the chocolate products you are used to at home.

Gado Gado: For vegetarians, and those who love eating vegetables, Gado Gado is the Balinese dish that you simply must try when you are there.

It is usually served as a large plate of bean sprouts, spinach, cucumber, and carrot, covered in a delicious satay sauce.

Mie Goreng: This translates as fried noodles, but it is what is served with them that makes this an especially healthy dish. Primarily, Mie Goreng can be made with chicken, vegetables, or seafood all of which are usually part of a healthy diet.

Pisan Goreng: It would be remiss of us not to include at least one dessert for those with a sweet tooth. Pisan Goreng is a fried banana dessert that can be served with honey or coconut.

Admittedly, it has more calories than other dishes, but bananas have more than their fair share of nutrients, so we will allow it.
